How Do I Perform a Factory Reset on SYNC® 4A?

A SYNC Factory Reset erases all stored data. This includes FordPass Connect™ (modem) activation, authorizations, call history, text messages, previously paired phone, and navigation favorites.

Important: Before performing a Factory Reset, try a system reset to restore functionality. A system reset does not delete any data stored on SYNC.

To perform a Factory Reset:

  1. Tap the Vehicle image at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Press Reset.
  4. Tap Factory Reset.
  5. Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the reset.
