The Owner’s guide for your Ford vehicle provides details of the child restraints recommended by Ford for your model or you can using the instructions shown in the following video.
Choosing a Child Seat
When you are purchasing an International Standard Organisation Fix (ISOFIX) child restraint, make sure that you know that you know your child’s correct weight and height, for the intended seating locations.
Some child restraints (known as semi-universal child restraints) cannot be fitted to certain vehicles. Therefore, it’s important that you make sure that the child seat manufacturer lists your vehicle as suitable for use with the type of semi-universal child seat you are planning to buy.
ISOFIX Child Restraints
ISOFIX seats are not fitted with the car’s seat belts. Instead, they have connecting arms that slot into ISOFIX points which were built into the vehicle when it was manufactured. An additional top tether or support leg is used to prevent the restraint from tilting or rotating in an impact.
To find out if your vehicle has ISOFIX points, check your vehicle’s owner's vehicle by selecting the vehicle model from the Owner’s Manual Information section below.
ISOFIX child restraints can be identified by the following symbol.
Top Tether Points, this symbol indicates the top tether anchor points in your vehicle.
Installing Child Restraints
When installing the child restraint attaching clip to the anchor fitting, if necessary, raise the head restraint and pass the tether strap between the head restraint supports. This prevents the tether strap from falling off the outermost edge of the seating positions.
When a child restraint system is not being used, either remove it and store it in a safe place, or make sure it is properly secured. An unsecured child restraint system can be thrown around the vehicle in a crash or sudden stop and injure someone.
Note: Always adjust the front passenger seat to its fully rearward position. If it proves difficult to achieve seatbelt routing according to the child restraint instructions, adjust the seat backrest and move the seat only as far forward as necessary.
Your vehicle has ISOFIX anchor points that accommodate universally approved ISOFIX child restraints.
The ISOFIX system comprises two rigid attachment arms on the child restraint that attach to anchor points on the second row and third row (if equipped) seats, where the cushion and backrest meet. Tether anchor points are behind the second and third row (if equipped) seats for child restraints with a top tether.

There are three child restraint top tether anchor points on the second row seat backrests, one for each rear seating position.
Top Tether Anchor Points - Third Row Seats

Attaching a Child Restraint with Top Tethers
You can follow step below:
- Push the child restraint back firmly to engage the ISOFIX lower anchor points.
- Tighten the tether strap as described in the child restraint manufacturer's instructions.
Note: Where applicable, remove the luggage cover to ease installation.
