What do the lights on my dashboard mean?
Your vehicle’s instrument cluster is equipped with a variety of warning lamps and indicators designed to help you monitor vehicle health and active control settings.
System Startup and Indicator Types
When you start your vehicle, it is normal for several indicators to illuminate briefly as the system performs a routine self-test:
Status Indicators: Some lights simply confirm that a feature is active, such as the Front Fog Lamps.
Warning Alerts: If specific indicators remain illuminated while the engine is running, they may be alerting you to a condition that requires immediate attention.
Accessing the Indicator Guide
For a comprehensive explanation of each symbol, please refer to the guide provided in your Owner’s Manual. If an indicator appears that is not documented in your manual, or if you have any concerns regarding your vehicle’s operation, please contact your local Ford Dealer. Our service professionals are available to provide expert diagnostics and assistance, or you can find a guide to these warning lamps and indicators.
