MANILA, Philippines, 6 June 2016 – Ford Philippines today reported its best-ever May performance with retail sales increasing 78 percent year-over-year to 2,933 units, led by strong customer demand for its ‘big three’ vehicles in the Philippines: the Ranger pickup, and Everest and EcoSport SUVs.

The record May sales helped Ford’s remain one of the fastest growing automotive brands in the Philippines in 2016 with year-to-date sales rising 63 percent to 13,961 units.

“We continued to build on our momentum since the start of the year, allowing us to make further progress in the Philippines,” said Lance Mosely, managing director, Ford Philippines. “With our expanding line-up of global Ford vehicles in our showrooms across the country, we are reaching out to even more customers and further widening our brand appeal.”

Ford’s May sales were led by the all-new Everest which delivered retail sales of 1,069 units, helping boost its year-to-date sales to 5,907 units.

MANILA, Philippines, 6 June 2016 – Ford Philippines today reported its best-ever May performance with retail sales increasing 78 percent year-over-year to 2,933 units, led by strong customer demand for its ‘big three’ vehicles in the Philippines: the Ranger pickup, and Everest and EcoSport SUVs.

The record May sales helped Ford’s remain one of the fastest growing automotive brands in the Philippines in 2016 with year-to-date sales rising 63 percent to 13,961 units.

Extraordinary demand for the Everest is being driven by a its striking design, advanced connectivity and driver assistance technologies, and outstanding capability from features like intelligent four-wheel drive and an advanced Terrain Management System help drivers navigate challenging terrain with confidence.

Ford recently launched the Everest Premium Package for the 2.2L 4x2 variant, equipped with additional safety, smart and convenience features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping System, Lane Departure Warning, and Active Park Assist.

EcoSport-delivers-its-best-retail-month-this-year

The EcoSport compact SUV delivered its best monthly performance this year with May sales increasing 56 percent year-over-year to 848 units. The EcoSport Black Edition was recently added to the lineup, giving consumers even more choice with the popular nameplate. EcoSport’s year-to-date sales have risen more than four percent to 3,515 units.

The limited EcoSport Black Edition is equipped with contrasting black details complemented with stylized accessories for a bold, distinct look on the road. It also features Keyless Swing Gate, Push-Start Button, Rear Parking Sensors, and SYNC 2 among others for added convenience to the driver.

The segment defining Ranger pickup truck delivered May sales of 786 units, helping drive its total sales this year to 3,343 units. The Ranger’s array of smart technologies help it stand apart in the segment, which are complemented by a stylish, smart and functional new interior, as well as best-in-class water-wading, towing and payload capabilities.

The sporty Fiesta equipped with the revolutionary 1.0L EcoBoost engine - delivered retail sales of 91 units in May, pushing its year-to-date total to 389 units.

Ford’s 1.0L EcoBoost engine was recently named the 2016 International Engine of the Year in the ‘Under 1.0L’ category for the fifth consecutive year. The award was judged by a panel of 65 automotive journalists from 31 countries, with the 1.0L EcoBoost finishing ahead of 32 competitor engines.

May sales of the premium Explorer SUV rose 24 percent from a year ago to 73 units. Its year-to-date sales have now increased 12 percent to 465 units.
