Ford Philippines 2016 Sales Rise 40 Percent

MANILA, Philippines, Nov. 8, 2016 – Ford Philippines today announced October retail sales of 2,470 vehicles, led by continued strength in demand for its ‘big three’ nameplates – the EcoSport, Ranger and Everest.

Ford’s year-to-date sales through October surpassed its record full-year sales in 2016 – having risen more than 40 percent to 27,463 vehicles.

“EcoSport, Everest and Ranger are continuing to drive a record sales year for us, and certainly helping us remain one of the top brands to consider among Filipinos looking to buy a new vehicle,” said Lance Mosley, managing director, Ford Philippines.

The EcoSport compact SUV was Ford’s best-selling vehicle in October with sales increasing 20 percent from a year ago to 812 vehicles, boosting its full year total up 11 percent to 7,791 vehicles. 

The popular Everest mid-size SUV delivered October retail sales of 805 vehicles and remained Ford’s best-selling vehicle year-to-date with overall sales of 10,427 vehicles.

Redefining its segment, the Everest features a bold design, advanced technology, stunning off-road and on-road capability, and a refined, premium interior for up to seven passengers.

In October, Ford introduced SYNC 3, the latest generation of its in-car connectivity system, to both the Everest and Ranger.The segment-defining Ranger pickup added retail sales of 657 vehicles to the October performance, pushing its full-year total up to 6,605 vehicles. 

The premium Explorer SUV contributed to the October performance with sales rising seven percent to 73 vehicles, helping its year-to-date total rise nine percent to 857 vehicles. 

Full-year Mustang sales have jumped 41 percent from a year ago to 273 vehicles, including 24 in October. Equipped with either a V8 5.0L or EcoBoost 2.3L engine, the Mustang comes with world-class handling, more precise steering control and enhanced ride comfort.
